A bronzed spelter figural eight day French mantle clock. c1887

A very decorative Neo Classical style bronzed spelter figural mantle clock, the case of a boy and two scantily dressed women with outstretched arms holding a spherical brass clock above their heads. Zodiac impressions around the circumference of the brass clock case.

Typical cartouche dial, 3 ¼” diameter, with enamel Roman numerals and enamel name plaque under the XII. Dial signed Name plaque reads H. Ricndei, Comptoir General 98 Poissonniere Paris. Blued steel hands.

Circular plated brass eight day movement with twin barrels for time and strike, striking on a rear mounted bell. Anchor escapement with Brocot suspension. Rear plate stamped H. Ricndei, Comptoir General 98 Poissonniere Paris.

Clock stands 26” high.
